POLYMER INJECTION
BVOEL is heading to new direction for enhancing oil production using different field wide technology.
Only 35% of the world’s oil discovered is ever produced by oil companies. 65% of the world’s oil resource is trapped in existing oil fields. There is currently over 6 trillion (t) barrels trapped in existing oil fields. BVOEL is in the process of developing and deploying a technology using tertiary recovery methods. It involves injecting different materials to improve the flow between oil, gas and rock, and to recover crude oil remaining after the primary and secondary oil recovery phases. It allows additional 20% to 30% of the oil in the reservoir to be extracted.
Our company is beheading with one of the EOR methods that involves injection of chemical such as polymer, surfactant or caustic. The injection of various chemicals, usually as dilute solutions, have been used to aid mobility and the reduction in surface tension. BVOEL will be carrying out the squeezing of dilute solution of a water soluble polymer operation in one of the oil field of India to increase the viscosity of the injected water that can increase the amount of oil recovered in some formations.
